Located within a historic downtown Denver building, the Colorado Optometric Association offices were redesigned to bring clarity, warmth, and contemporary professionalism to the nonprofit organization’s headquarters. The existing interior was dated and visually heavy, prompting a renovation that would elevate the Association’s public presence while improving everyday functionality for staff.
The reception area was reconfigured to create a welcoming first impression, featuring a custom openwork partition that introduces architectural texture while defining a small meeting area beyond. Updated lighting, lighter flooring, and a refined material palette enhance natural light and create a brighter, more open environment within the historic space. Private offices were refreshed with cohesive finishes and improved illumination, and the lunchroom was fully updated to provide an inviting staff amenity.
The renovation was executed within a carefully managed budget, prioritizing strategic design interventions and thoughtful material selections that delivered a significant visual transformation while maintaining fiscal responsibility. The completed project balances contemporary interior design with the character of the historic building, providing the Association with a workplace that reflects both its legacy and its forward-looking mission.
