ROCKET DONUTS AND ACME ICE CREAM

This project received the 2013 Northwest AIA Design Award

The interior design concept was inspired by the Client’s extensive collection of Sci-Fi movie posters and memorabilia. Customers are greeted by the display of local made donuts and ice cream, housed in white quartz counters and satin aluminum casework. Custom menu boards hang in front of bright orange glass tile. “1950’s Sci-Fi” themed finishes of stainless, aluminum, concrete, glass, and retro accent colors create a fun, playful style that doesn’t take itself too seriously. A stainless custom built rocket ship hangs from the ceiling with neon flames. We collaborated with Signs Plus to design the neon signs, rocket flames, custom menus and exterior building signage. We commissioned Seattle Mural Artist Josh Osgood to paint a custom Sci-Fi mural, depicting the Client’s dairy farm in Acme, WA being invaded by aliens!
