We had such fun designing the interior for Rocket Donuts, with displaying and celebrating the Client’s extensive collection of Sci-Fi movie posters, props, and other memorabilia. We commissioned a Seattle artist to work with us in designing the 1950’s themed mural floating above the cashier and food preparation areas. The mural references the Client’s dairy farm in Acme, Washington, where his ice cream is made, being invaded by a UFO. Finishes and lighting were selected to keep with the Sci-Fi theme, with stainless and aluminum details, concrete floors, glass tiles, and fresh bold accent colors that create a fun, bright, and retro environment to enjoy the locally made donuts and ice cream.
