The Client, Dr. Kao, desired a fresh, modern, and clean “hygienic” looking office that reflects his holistic and biological dental practice. Since windows were located only on the entrance side of the building, we selected a glass wall system with sliding doors to encourage light into the space and exam rooms. White finishes, light concrete floors, stainless steel details, rich woodwork, and fresh bold accent colors provided a bright, spacious, and elegant environment for the staff and their patients. The dentist wanted a separate play space adjacent to the main waiting area for his younger patients with visual access for the parents, which the custom portholes provided. The dentist’s personal travel photos were featured in each operatory as backlit artwork, giving a personal touch as well as additional light to the space.
